Eastbound and Down is one of the most creative
and incredibly ridiculous shows on the air today. The epic saga is about the
all-star southern pitcher, Kenny Powers, who loses everything and has to start
over. He moves back to his home town living with his brother, leaving his
million dollar ace closer career to be a washed up substitute gym teacher.
This
show is clearly a must watch as long as you can stomach some raunchy humor and
a little bit of very questionable decisions that Kenny Powers makes in regaining
his life. In Amos Barshad's article from Grantland, he depicts the long external saga of the show and fills in all the holes of the last couple years of the show. He, also, hits Kenny Powers on the head
with his quote: “Short
on human decency, long on raw ambition.” This is a wonderfully funny show that
should definitely be looked into. The entire cast is phenomenal and provides
awesome entertainment during each episode. This will be their fourth and last
season this year and the co-creators Danny McBride and Jody Hill are extremely
happy they are able to get one last season to end the show off the right way.
HBO realized that their cult like fans wanted just a little bit more out of
this peculiar story. So, the humor is a tad bit out there, but overall this
story is worthwhile for everyone to check out.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if that kind of humor would appeal to me, but your post has certainly made it sound good enough for me to give it a try! (Sorry about the deleted post, I accidentally hit post before I was done writing.)
